A hacker replaced the home page on 9/19/08 with this simple statement:

Op’s The Security Owned By S4udi-S3curity :0 I miss The Hacker :

Reader Gordon Fecyk noticed it the same day and fired off an email. Naturally, I took the weekend off to relax. I only noticed it earlier today.

This event harkens back to the good ol’ days when “hackers” enjoyed a little fun at the expense of a system operator. I agree: “I miss The Hacker.” I sometimes hack my own websites as part of an April Fool’s joke, so I can appreciate this person’s effort for what it was.

I replaced a couple of PHP files and … um, then I myself promptly broke the site when I changed a configuration file. You gotta love the incompetence of the system operator!
